Skin rejuvenation

Perhaps you feel that your skin looks tired or it has been damaged by over exposure to the sun. Perhaps you would just like to look better for your age. Skin rejuvenation techniques such as Derma Roller and IPL can help the skins natural repair processes and increase collagen leading to a more youthful appearance, other skin rejuvenation techniques such as Botox rely on freezing the facial muscles that result in wrinkles forming or plumping out the wrinkles with dermal fillers to lessen their apearance.

Collagen and Elastin Stimulation Techniques.

As we age our skins collagen and elastin production declines markedly. Since collagen and elastin are the proteins responsible for giving the skin it’s elastic and youthful appearance it is not surprising that a reduction in these proteins will result in unwanted wrinkles and sagging in the skin. There are two well proven skin rejuvenation methods that will increase the collagen and elastin levels within the skin. IPL (intense pulse light) and Derma Roller. IPL has been show to effectively reduce wrinkles, age spots and small thread veins leading to a more youthful appearance (also called photo rejuvenation) while dermaroller specifically increases the amount of collagen in the skin upto 1000% resulting in a more dramatic wrinkle and line reduction.

Dermal fillers and Botox.

Dermal fillers work by plumping out wrinkles so that they are less visible. Fillers typically last between six months to two years depending on the type of filler used. Fillers can be used to plump out wrinkles, enhance cheekbones or other areas of the face or plump out the lips.

Botox is a naturally occurring toxin that in large doses can result in paralysis and even death! However, the tiny therapeutic doses administered at aesthetics clinics pose no threat to human health. Botox is used to relax facial muscles leading to wrinkles appearing reduced. Botox can also be used to help control excess sweating or hyperhidrosis. It works by blocking the nerve signals that overstimulate the sweat glands.

Blemish removal.

IPL and derma roller can significantly help reduce the appearance of acne scarring and stretch marks. Dermaroller will significantly increase the collagen within the skin which is missing in the scar tissue and can safely be used on stretch marks and old acne scars resulting in significant blemish removal. IPL whilst not as dramatic in its ability to stimulate collagen can safely be used on active acne to reduce scars and reduce bacteria levels deep within the skin that creams and washes can’t reach resulting in a reduction or even elimination of new spots forming. Blemish removal and blemish reduction can be achieved in three to six sessions of treatment.

Moles and skin tags can be removed non surgery using Advanced Cosmetic Procedures or ACP. This technique involves passing an electric current through the mole or skin tag causing it to scab up and then fall off.

Permanent Hair Removal.

Waxing has been a popular method of hair removal in recent years giving weeks of hair free skin, however the hair always returns and must be allowed to reach a length whereby waxing will be effective before it can be removed again. Constant waxing can lead to ingrown hairs which can become infected and look unsightly. Permanent hair reduction and removal can be achieved in two ways, either using IPL or electrolysis. IPL is more suited to darker hair on light skin and large areas of hair to be removed such as legs of back and electrolysis is more suited to fair hairs, grey (un-pigmented) hairs, fine hairs and individual troublesome hairs or small groups of hairs and shaping areas such as eyebrows.
